Strength Training Equipment Home Made !

POSTED BY admin on Feb 23 under strength training equipment

I would like to introduce you to some strength training equipment that is home made and is very useful indeed for your work outs and routines, i use thick bar training a lot to improve grip so the first items i would like to show you are along those lines

I had these made up at my local scrap yard i went in over an extended period looking for ideas for different sorts of training equipment, befriended one of the workers there who was a welder and he offered his help to me (of course i paid him but not as much as to buy this from a shop)

So i looked around and found a 2 inch diameter scaffolding pole which was cut to around 7 inches in length twice to make 2 handles, then using some steel rods (concrete reinforcing ones) he made up 4 lengths with hooked ends and welded them onto the handles

so i could get my hand in the middle and the hooked ends could comfortably hook up to a dumbell, a really great peice of strength training equipment

Now i have 2 great little tools to train with, i can do single arm deadlifts with a thick handled bar and also use the pair plus 2 dumbells and do a thick handled Farmers Walk, you could also do a curl with this as well, but nothing above the shoulders because the dumbell could come off the hooks and be dangerous !

I also had a rolling grip machine made up in the same way, from peices of scaffold pole i found at the scrap yard, basically its 4 pieces of scaffold pole 66 inches for the 4 uprights, the cross members are long enough so i have a 26 inch space to walk into to use the machine the cross members are placed

at bottom back, and top and bottom on both sides, on the top side members another brace is placed mid way across the top and before it is welded a slighty bigger steel tube is sleeved over the middle brace and an eye loop is welded onto it, this turns easily over the top of the brace scaffold tube

the bigger sleeve with the eye should be wide enough to grip comfortably with both hands, right now secure a strong thin rope to the eye and cut it so it reaches the floor plus 12 inches all that is left to do is secure a weight to the other end and then you have a roller that you can roll away from you and towards you

Both forward and backward rolling should be included in your work outs … have fun and maybe i have started you thinking on how to make your own strength training equipment !
