Warm up Stretches using Indian Clubs

POSTED BY admin on Feb 19 under warm up stretches with indian clubs

This is a really good way of exercising, whether you utilise them during warm up stretches before your main workout, you may have done your workout and want to stretch out your body afterwards, or even use this as your main workout on its own, indian clubs will foot the bill very well !

Over in india for centuries they have trained their top wrestlers with indian clubs of all shapes and sizes, it goes without saying that they are amongst the worlds most formidable opponents, if not at the very top of their game

So do not overlook this little gem of a training system. you may scoff when you see the size of the basic clubs with heads of just one pound and two pounds in weight, they will give great warm up stretches for you

If you follow a structured exercise program with these little beauties, you will soon start to see its potential, from the work out it gives you, the system is based mainly on a swinging circular movement

Whilst making sure you keep your shoulders and body very relaxed, there should not be any tension in your swings at all as you perform the exercises, this is a really good stress reliever as well

some of the exercises you can perform are clean and press, drumming exercise, forearm lever lifts, stirring technique, striking moves and tricep press just to name a few of the various moves available for you

Summary: In the late 1800s, Indian clubs were exercise equipment that was used in choreographed patterns led by an instructor. Wooden clubs of various weights are swung in different rhythms and routines

Resembling aerobics and juggling, this exercise was introduced for physical fitness purposes by British soldiers who were stationed in India in the 1800s. It was a featured Olympic sport in 1904,

But its popularity waned in the 1920s. Indian clubs are used today much in the same way that kettle bells are used for aerobic and physical fitness exercises.

I have also noticed while using indian clubs that all my little shoulder injuries have cleared themselves up, but you must have your shoulders completely relaxed whilst using them i cannot stress this enough !
