Work outs and Breathing

POSTED BY admin on Feb 13 under Breathing and Work Outs

Most people do not seem to understand the importance of Breathing during your work outs, of course you have to breathe in order to stay firmly fixed and walking around on this earth ! but i am talking about deep breathing where you breathe in slowly for a determined period then breathe out in a controlled manner

It wont be as easy as you are thinking right now, breathing work outs are a worthwhile exercise all on their own, here is what to do :- Start by breathing in and out gently a few times to take in some air, then breathe out as far as you can, stop momentarily then with an even flow of air gently breathe in to the count of 7 to 10

Really fill your lungs and get your diaphragm filled up and extended to capacity…hold for a count of 3 then exhale slowly and controlled to the count of 8 to 12 and stay relaxed, then wait for 3 and repeat the process, try for 2 or 3 complete in and out controlled breath exercises per set and build up to around 3 sets over time

As you carry out this exercise. I have found it to be really good standing with your legs shoulders width apart and slightly bent, you can even move your arms to gauge the in and out breaths you need to perform, I do it by doing alternate arm soft karate punch movements but keep very relaxed doing it

Warning if you do this exercise correctly and controlled you will wake up the first morning after feeling like you have been punched or kicked in the stomach but the Diaphragm is a muscle and if you exercise it like its not been used to, you will get sore as it reacts to the exercise. Its very worthwhile to add this to your Work outs say 3 times a week

You will see results over time and your ribcage will expand further thus you will get bigger in the chest, Also your intake of oxygen will be greater so that will make you generally feel better as well as mentally sharper to boot. Most people only shallow breathe, but get used to deep and controlled breathing as part of your work outs, you will now know the meaning of “Breathing Correctly”

Keep in mind that some famous bodybuilders have used visualisation and breathing techniques to actually help in the building of muscle mass along with proper training as well of course, but without a doubt combining these two techniques will greatly enhance your training and results from it.
